Morocco's wheat import bill falls 3.2% in January

Morocco'sMorocco's wheat import bill decreased 3.2 percent in January 2010 because of the country's remarkable harvest, the Exchange Rate Monitoring Office said on Tuesday.
Morocco's wheat import bill stood at 682 million dirhams, the Rabat-based Office Des Changes said in a statement.

In volume, Morocco's imports dropped 41.6 percent in January 2010 to 114,700 tonnes.

The cereal production in Morocco reached some 102 million quintals in the 2008-2009 crop year. This record harvest is due to abundant rainfall.
